An integrated report is a concise communication about how an organisation’s strategy, governance, performance and prospects, in the context of its external environment, lead to the creation of value in the short, medium and long term.

The International < IR > Framework is intended to enable a business to bring these elements together through the concept of ‘connectivity of information’, to best tell an organisation’s value creation story.

However, the Framework lacks a digital platform; it is merely a set of principles, which means that it can’t deliver integrated reporting. There is so much data and so many relationships – between outcomes, risks, performance measures, activities, facilities, finance, customers, producers, society at large and the environment – that information technology is needed to manage and report them.
